About
Copyright has been my life for more than 25 years. What began as a job in the Permissions Department at Scott Foresman and Company in 1983 has developed into a very full and rich professional life which I continue to enjoy daily.
Highlights so far include:
-
- Founder and director The Permissions Group for 15 years before selling the company to the assistant director, Sherry Hoesly.
- Developer and publisher of copyRights Newsletter for 5 years.
- Author of Copyright Plain & Simple, published by Career Press.
- Speaker and trainer across the US on copyright.
- Manager of Freelance Services for Pearson/Longman Publishers.
- Copyright Director for Willow Creek Community Church for 5 years.
Recently I transitioned my role at Willow Creek from staff member to independent advisor. I am now making my expertise available again as cbRights Consulting in the for-profit and not-for-profit markets. With experience in all media and environments, I know I can help clients navigate the complex landscape of rights.
I believe life is an adventure, both professionally and personally. Here are a few of my favorite things when I’m not in the office:
-
- Spending time with my family – awesome husband Joe of 25 years, daughter Kate who is a college student and Starbucks barista, grown sons Roger and Brian and their families which include 4+ grandchildren (one more is due in September!)
- Traveling to my favorite cities – NYC, Nashville, and Orlando (to see Mickey!).
- Gardening for beauty and for food!
- Enjoying magazines or conversation over a good cup of coffee.
- Researching almost anything on the internet, especially places I want to visit.
- Worshiping God!
